Slurry Fracture Injection

SFI Technology

To describe our technology in it's most basic terms, the waste material is screened to a specified injection criteria, and then slurried in a stream of water (i.e. mix water) as required. The slurry is made with as high a waste concentration as possible (10-30%), and pumped down a waste disposal well at in-situ fracturing pressures. Extensive monitoring is utilized during the Terralog-SFI operations to ensure effective process control.

Suitable Waste Materials
Petroleum Exploration & Production (E & P) waste:

       •  Produced solids
       •  Oily viscous fluids/sludge (OVF)
       •  Tank bottoms
       •  Contaminated soils
       •  Drill Cuttings and Fluids
       •  Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM)

The SFI process can be used to dispose of suitable mining wastes such as sludges and fine tailings.

Terralog also provides its SFI services to manage municipal waste streams:

       •  Waste water treatment sludge
       •  Biosolids
       •  Contaminated soil
       •  Incinerator ash

Subsurface Geothermal Treatment

Environmental Advantages

There are significant environmental advantages to using the SFI process for management of E&P waste streams:
