Drilling and Completion Simulation

Technology Summary
Terralog is actively engaged in research and development of advanced drilling technologies and advanced completion technologies. Our efforts include analysis of the fundamental physical processes at the bit-rock interface involved in rotary and percussion drilling, and even research on advanced concepts for drilling to 1km depth on Mars for NASA. In the completion area, solutions for sand production and related well failures require not only an understanding of rock and damage mechanics outside the wellbore, but also improved understanding of gravel placement, produced sand transport, and the impact of sand flow on internal completion hardware. Terralog has developed advanced modeling technology for coupled fluid-particle flow simulation of gravel and sand within a well and in the near well formation.
